FO alumni returned to VŠE after 44 years

On Saturday, June 20, 2026, a group of graduates from the Faculty of Commerce (now the Faculty of International Relations) who graduated in 1982 gathered at VŠE to tour the premises of their alma mater after 44 years.

The tour began at 10:00 AM in front of the VŠE Old Building. The graduates visited the Idea Fair coworking space, took a look inside the NB lecture halls and the Likeš Aula (formerly known as the Old Aula), and in lecture hall RB101, they sat at the desks once again after many years to reminisce about their student days. They also checked out the Wall of Partners and peeked into the Umbrella Pizza Bar. In the Rajská Building, they took pictures on the famous staircase where students today take photos to mark their graduation.

Apart from the tour itself, the graduates learned a number of interesting facts about the VŠE of today. For example, they were interested in how many students study at the university now, which study programs the individual faculties offer, how students put together their schedules, how exams are conducted, and how students register for them. They were also curious whether students are still divided into classes or study groups, how they approach the use of artificial intelligence, and where they spend their free time. Furthermore, they learned about student clubs and who sponsors them.

Even after all these years, the graduates were very pleased with the VŠE premises and highly appreciated the modernized or entirely new spaces. Every hallway brought back memories of their student years, sparking plenty of interesting observations and questions.

We thank the graduates very much for deciding to visit their alma mater. We believe they enjoyed the tour, learned something new, and reminisced together about their student days—right where their personal and professional journeys began.
